Introduction to LOWA

Created as part of the PROMISE project Lakshadweep zero waste alliance (LOWA) is registered as an NGO in Maldives.

LOWA aims to promote sustainable consumption and production along Lakshadweep shorelines in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and India thereby contributing towards a zero-waste future.

LOWA seeks to ensure

Operational Transparency: operating with openness and accountability.

Regional Consideration: catering to unique needs and realities of the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and India.

Guard Against Greenwashing: ensuring genuine environmental commitment.

About LOWA-RET

LOWA-RET or the LOWA Resource Efficiency Tracker is a digital resource efficiency monitoring platform designed to help LOWA members with:

Monitoring their resource efficiency in terms of water, waste, energy and number of visitors/guests per night.

Visualizing the consequent trends over a maximum period of 60 months.

Setting up customer milstones and benchmarks on the resource indicators.
